Melinda Robertson was born and raised in Washington, D.C. At the age of nineteen she became a teen mother and it changed her life forever. After experiencing motherhood at such a young age, years later she decided to write her first book to help teens understand the responsibilities that come with being a mother.

Ms. Robertson is the Founder of The Calvin Woodland Foundation, a non-profit organization in Washington, D.C. that provides job training, summer youth employment, and sponsors annual activities several times a year for underprivileged youths in Southeast.

Ms. Robertson is the proud mother of two, Melinda Coles, and Harry “Lucky” Robertson. Spending quality time with them, as well as her granddaughter, Melinda Shoatz, is one of her favorite past times. She also enjoys cooking and hand-dancing.
